Kyle Turley former All-Pro Offensive Lineman for the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs was gracious enough to come on and talk about the NFL Division Championship Games! He's got a new band touring on their way to the Super Bowl!

Tell us about the Saints season this year and their improvement.

They have a stellar offense and were without Jeremy Shockey for the beginning then made some key pickups in the defense.

Talking about his career and accolades:

He felt like he was just a regular player and wanted to be a great teammate.

Tell us about your experience playing in the NFL for 9 years.

It's tough to play that long in the NFL. As a lineman the key is to stay healthy and he started to have some key injuries later in his career. Told an experience with Conrad Dobler and his injuries.

When asked about the JETS playing the SAINTS in the Super Bowl (referring to his famous helmet throwing incident against the Jets)

I feel it's destiny that these two teams will meet up.

Tells us about the charity his band is raising money for (Gridiron Greats)

Mike Ditka talked to him about it and how it helps former players with disabilities. He started a fundraiser in his last year in the league and now raises money with his band. He's trying to raise awareness about the organization. He's on a tour starting in Austin Jan 23 then heading to Houston, New Orleans, Orlando then Miami. Check out www.gridirongreats.org for more information.

When asked about the Saints vs. Vikings game.

I think it's a great match-up and the great irony is that in 2000 we beat the Rams to win the first playoff game in history but then lost to the Minnesota. Brett Favre is returning home. I think it will be one of the greatest games in NFL history.

How would you as an offensive lineman prepare to go against the Vikings tough defensive line?

I would prepare for battle. You may not be able to walk for a few days after a battle against those guys. He's looking forward to seeing Jared Allen play. He thinks the Saints offensive line plays their asses off and can keep up.

    When asked about Darren Sharper.

He is one of those key pieces that was picked up that makes the Saints one of, if not the most balanced team. He played against him and he's a very good player. He shares a few stories of playing him in training camp.

When asked if the Vikings secondary are going to be able to step up against Drew Brees.

They better be! The only way they'll be the Saints is if they can reduce the bleeding that will inevitably occur.

    When asked about Ricky Williams.

Ricky is a pro and it's too bad that society thinks certain things are so bad that they want to take away his career. He never saw anybody practice harder than him. He didn't bother anyone. Sure he got a few speeding tickets but who wouldn't if you had a Ferrari!? People fight for Michael Vick and players like that but not for great guys like Ricky.

    Tell us about the JETS.

I like the team. Their coach needs to get on a treadmill though! As a head coach he has helped them stay the course. I feel it's destiny that they'll beat the Colts and listeners should put money on them! If the Colts get behind he thinks the crowd will revolt because it will be too tough to come back against that tough Jets defense. He's impressed with Coach Ryan as a Head Coach and thinks there isn't a better defensive coach in the league.

    Fun Quote from the podcast:
In Texas, football is not KING, football is GOD!

Many thanks to Kyle for coming on the show and good luck to him and his band!
